Great Bear Rainforest |

August - September. Limited dates left! , 2010   |
Length:
8 days |

The Great Bear Rainforest...islands and intricate waterways beneath towering
mountains...lush, coastal temperate forests.... wilderness alive with eagles,
ravens, salmon, bears and wolves....ten thousand year old native cultures.... and now the opportunity to adventure along these waterways, inside the forest, seek for the wildlife, meet native guides and learn why the Great Bear
Rainforest is one of the last gems on the Pacific Coast. Travel by custom 68-foot ketch with trained naturalists and explore the central coast region of British Columbia’s scenic and intricate shoreline. Stretching from
Vancouver Island north along the mainland coast, it
forms a significant section of the famous ‘Inside Passage’ route to Alaska. The description ‘Great Bear Rainforest’ was created because the region holds the largest remaining areas of original coastal rainforest left on the entire Pacific coast. There are significant populations of
black, grizzly and kermode bear that are supported by the abundant salmon runs for food, and lack of human development. Our trip is
more then an exploration aimed at seeking out bears.
We will focus on the richness, the biological diversity
of this special area. Join us as we adventure into the
domain of the Great Bear.

"Being able to observe wildlife in its natural habitat and to cause the least impact while watching these amazing animals, was the ultimate experience."
