Tibet..."The Roof of the World"...... The very name evokes feelings of awe and mystery. A land of ancient Buddhist culture, breath-taking landscapes, ancient monasteries and centuries-old caravan trails, Tibet is a destination out of the ordinary. Famed as the Roof of the World, the Tibet Autonomous Region of China lies on a plateau at an average elevation of 4,000m. It is bounded by the Kunlun mountains to the north and the Himalaya to the south. This journey travels the high road known as the "Friendship Highway" from Lhasa to Kathmandu. Spend the night at Rongbuk Monastery at the foot of Mt Everest. A trip to Tibet is not complete without witness to the sunrise over Mt Everest! |

The travel permit for Tibet will be obtained for you. Medical insurance is MANDATORY on this trip. Sleeping bags are required for Lake Namtso and Rongbuk. |
